Cassie Gaines was an American singer best known for her work as a backup vocalist for the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. She was born on January 9, 1948, in Seneca, Missouri, and was the younger sister of Lynyrd Skynyrd lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant.
